Announcing the 2009 contest!

The Prague Post, in conjunction with the Prague Playhouse and Divadlo Minor,
Is proud to announce

The Prague Post Playwriting Contest 2009

The third annual Prague Post Playwriting Contest is open for business. Starting today, The Prague Post is accepting submissions.

Much like last year’s volume, we are looking for original stage plays never produced in Prague with approximate run times of 30 minutes, page range 10 to 20. We accept stage plays only in English, but it can be a translation. Aspiring playwrights must be current or former residents of the Czech Republic (we will ask for references). Entries must be received by Nov. 7,  2008.

The top three scripts will be performed at Prague’s Divadlo Minor in March 2009. The best script will be awarded a cash prize of 20,000 CZK.
The entry fee is only 100 Kc per submission (multiple submissions accepted).

The goal of the Prague Post Playwriting Contest is to revive the tradition of English-language theater in Prague. We want to give young and new authors their opportunity. We would also like to extend the cultural experience of this international city to all speakers of English.
