VISAS The Czech Republic joined the U.S. Visa Waiver Program Nov. 17, the Czech News Agency (ČTK) reported. MURDER A Czech has been arrested in Mexico for murdering his wife, iDnes.cz reported Nov. 17. His wife flew to Mexico to ask for a divorce in August. Instead of filling out the paperwork, he beat her to death, cut up the body and stashed it in several suitcases in a forest. Despite initial denial, he eventually led police to the body and faces up to 50 years in prison if convicted.
OPPOSITION The opposition Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) is creating regional governments. Despite forming coalitions with the communist party, its popularity is on the rise, Právo reported Nov. 18.
