Hoerth to manage Madarin

Hotel manager Clemens Hoerth has taken over the management of the newly opened Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Prague 1–Malá Strana.

Hoerth, who was appointed general manager, has worked in the industry since 1981, when he began working at the Four Seasons Kempinski hotel in Munich. Hoerth later worked in various managerial positions at hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

At the same time, Petr Marek was named the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's business and marketing manager. In the past, Marek worked as the director of sales and marketing for Aria Hotel. Before starting his professional career in the hotel industry, Marek studied music.

Quinlan Private Golub, one of the largest global real estate groups, has appointed Igor Klajmon to be construction director for Central and Eastern Europe.

Based in Prague, Klajmon will manage the development of an extensive project portfolio located principally in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

Klajmon gained extensive experience in various international real estate fields during his 12-year career. He managed and directed numerous individual and group projects in the Czech Republic, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Klajmon previously worked as Bovis Lend Lease's operations director.

Kerio Technologies Inc., a developer of software firewalls and mail servers, named Jozef Belvončík managing director of its Czech subsidiary. In his new role, Belvončík will be responsible for everyday operational and financial management of the Plzeň office. At the same time, he will participate in Kerio's strategic and business plans.

Belvončík brings more than 15 years of sales, marketing, finance and management experience. Before Kerio, he co-founded the sales and marketing consultant firm Andstrom & Goldstein Company, which later became a part of the McCann-Erickson advertising agency. Before that, he worked as the head of marketing for Microsoft in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Communication agency Euro RSCG recently announced the appointment of Neil Gawthrope as its regional chief financial officer.

Gawthrope is a British national who gained substantial experience working for a significant period of time in the Central and East European markets. Prior to joining Euro RSCG, he served as finance manager for the international brewery group SABMiller, based initially in London and then in the Czech Republic. In the mid- to late-1990s, he worked as a financial consultant for Pepsi Cola International across the company's Central and East European divisions (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Russia). Before international assignments, he gained finance experience at DHL Worldwide Express in the United Kingdom.
